Steven Hurvitz heads AAML 'Children of Divorce' video production

Steven Hurvitz, a McQuaide Blasko shareholder practicing in State College, has been appointed by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers to chair a committee overseeing production of a video entitled "Voice of Children of Divorce." The video, which will be distributed nationally, will focus on the issues faced by children caught in the middle of divorce and custody battles.

Mr. Hurvitz is the only Centre County attorney who is a fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. To become a fellow, an attorney must have extensive experience in matrimonial law, be involved in the study or improvement of matrimonial law, and pass an exam on wide-ranging issues pertaining to matrimonial and family law. Mr. Hurvitz serves as second vice president of the Pennsylvania AAML chapter.

Founded in 1962, the AAML promotes the highest degree of professionalism and excellence in the practice of family law, including such matters as divorce, prenuptial agreements, and business valuations.

Mr. Hurvitz concentrates his practice on commercial, real estate, and family law. As a standing member of the Pennsylvania Joint State Government Task Force on Domestic Relations Law Advisory Committee, he drafted significant portions of proposed alimony law changes currently under consideration by the state Legislature. He also serves on the Pennsylvania Bar Association Family Law Section Executive Committee.
