Maureen A. Gallagher

Maureen Gallagher joined McQuaide Blasko in 1990 after serving as judicial law clerk to the Hon. Charles C. Brown, Jr., then the president judge of Centre County. Since the early 1990s, Maureen’s work has focused almost exclusively on civil litigation and, in particular, professional negligence defense.

Often serving as lead counsel, she has extensive experience in all aspects of complex medical malpractice defense litigation, including the successful representation of physicians, nurses, and hospitals in jury trials. She handles depositions; case analysis and investigation; selection and preparation of defense experts; preparation of pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests and responses; and client advocacy at evidentiary hearings, pretrial conferences, and trials. She has also represented clients in mediation and other forms of dispute resolution.  Additionally, Maureen has represented licensed health care providers in the defense of licensure investigations by the state licensure boards.

Maureen is experienced in advising health care administrators on a wide variety of legal issues that arise within the context of day-to-day patient care. She has been an invited presenter with the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, hospitals, and physicians and nurses groups in Central Pennsylvania, discussing current legal issues.
